| | June Panic - Peace and Love | ] | Wow I was so miserable yesterday, for no good reason. And then today, late in the day, it miraculously lifted and I feel fa fa fine.
Both Manien and I get a long weekend this weekend. It is very exciting, since at our last workplace any such thing usually ended up a regular or even shorter weekend. We are going on a roadtrip.
Oh there is a good topic for discussion, ROADTRIPS. Have you had any especially good ones? |

| The Freshman Mayor: 19-Year-Old John Hammons Won Mayoral Race |
[May. 15th, 2008|01:37 am] |
|
http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Neatorama/~3/290600661/ http://www.neatorama.com/?p=16293 Meet John Hammons, a 19-year-old college freshman at the University of Oklahoma. He was just elected mayor of Muskogee, a city of 38,000 in northeastern part of the state!
Hammons, who will be sworn in next week, said he plans to continue his college education but expects to transfer to a school closer to Muskogee.
"Being elected does not change my desire to continue my education," he said. "We will schedule our time in an appropriate fashion so that I can be mayor and stay in school."

| Pablo Picasso’s Guernica in 3D |

Pablo Picasso was commissioned by the Spanish government to commemorate the Nazi Germany bombing of Guernica, Spain, during the Spanish Civil War in 1937. The result is Guernica, a black and white painting that depicts the suffering and brutality of war.
Fast forward to 2008, where Lena Gieseke turned Picasso’s Guernica mural into 3-D for her degree in computer animation from the University of Georgia.

| An Update (maybe) |
[May. 14th, 2008|06:58 pm] |
God Damn it Kate Beaton, first you ask us for money and then you don't update for like a week! What kind of tomfoolery is this?
I know! I am a scoundrel! I seem to have been popping up in some other places instead, but will have comics soon. At present I am working on a one about Joseph Howe, which is going to please maybe three people from Halifax. I cannot help it, he is my faaavorite! (he is so great)
I have gotten a lot of feedback about the shirts (thanks so much to those who purchased something!) and wanted to say this- if it happens that another shirt comes out, yes almost certainly it will have to do with the historical comics. Likely what will happen is that I will post ideas here instead of just unveiling them. But it's all speculation right now because I don't know yet what's going to happen! The response has been overly generous though, thanks dudes, as always I am at your service.
Lastly, lord thunderin' would you believe a new website is in the works, one with an rss feed and everything. |
